Do You Like The New Sock Ons?

I have been given a chance to review the new version of Sock ons. I think that all mums must have a problem with keeping their baby's socks on. Thanks to this invention, many little feet can be kept warm all the time, and there will be no more baby socks lost!

All you have to do is to put the sock ons over your baby's socks and thanks to the material and design the socks will not slip off your child's feet! I really like the elastic material, so soft and the new design? I have to say I love the new funky design! I think the sock ons should be included in one of those free Bounty packs you get at the hospital after giving birth to your child instead of some silly stuff they include. I have already been asked by many of my Czech friends to get some for their babies too.

Halo Baby Bath From Halos N Horns!

When choosing products for bathing Isabelle, there are certain things I consider very important. As her skin is very delicate and sensitive, I am always trying to get natural products without chemicals which could harm her skin. Halos N Horns have developed Halo Baby bath, which does not contain any nasty chemicals. It has been launched by a mum, whose son had eczema.
It's not just safe, but smells great too. To check out the whole range of their products go to http://www.halosnhorns.co.uk/the_range.html

Chemicals removed from Halo Baby Bath:

Traditional Czech Potato Soup!

I have just had my favourite soup for lunch and have decided to share our family recipe with you. One of the most important ingredients are the wild mushrooms, which Czech people collect in forests in summer. If you don't have these, just use Porcini mushrooms, which are available at any supermarket. If you use other mushrooms, the soup will not be the same, but probably still very yummy.

Ingredients:
  • 1,5 l cold water
  • 500 g potatoes diced
  • 100 g vegetables (onion, celeriac, carrots, parsnips) diced
  • 50 g wild mushrooms ( porcini could be used also) chopped
  • 70 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • salt
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • 1/4 ts marjoram
Melt butter in heavy 4-qt sauce pan. Add diced potatoes, celeriac, parsnips, onions, and carrots. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally until lightly browned. Sprinkle with flour, and stir until well coated. Add cold water, marjoram, salt, pepper, and mushrooms. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to very low, and partially cover pot. Simmer for 25 min, until potatoes are tender.

Hope you will love it, we do! Let me know what you think.

On The Go Booster Seats!

When you child grows out of her/his highchair, you will need a booster seat to get them closer to the dining table. I have seen a few booster seats, and it really depends if you just want to go for the look or want to save some space, use it when going on holiday, visiting grandparents or even going to the cinema or theatre with your little ones. The first booster seat to mention is the one we went for, The First Years On the Go Booster Seat, which comes in pink, blue and other designs. It is compact (as it deflates), lightweight, machine washable and easy to use. Simply pull out the valve and it self-inflates into a sturdy and comfortable full-size booster seat; the adjustable safety belt with T-restraint helps hold the child securely. If you would prefer something with extra stability, then check out the GLTC green/pink comfort booster seat. I just love the colour! What do you think?

Sterimar Sea Water Nasal Spray!

I have meant to write about this great product for ages, and finally I would like to share my review with you. When Isabelle was a baby, quite often she had a blocked nose and I was hopeless. Then when visiting my family in the Czech republic I came across a Nivea nasal spray and it worked like magic! When I came back to London, I was looking for this product, but it is not possible to buy it here. I spent a lot of time researching if there was something similar, and the answer is yes! Sterimar, the sea water microdiffusion spray, which has the same effects as the previously mentioned Nivea spray. The spray contains natural sea water which is filtered and made isotonic.

Product features:
  • Antiseptic
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anti-allergy
  • Delivers 300 sprays approx.
  • Suitable for all ages including babies and children.

A Portable DVD/CD Player For Your Child!

I have mentioned here before that we travel quite often, and have to say that travelling with Isabelle has been not that difficult. She was just 3 months old when she flew for the first time and now she absolutely loves flying. Last week we went on a ski holiday again and I was very happy we took Isabelle's new portable DVD/CD player as our flight was delayed and she was getting very bored. After reading her magazine, colouring some pictures and telling her stories, I was running out of ideas of what to do to entertain her. Also we were very tired as our flight was early in the morning. Then I put her favourite Disney Snow White on and she was just sitting happily and watching it until our gate was announced. It can also be used in a car, you just have to attach it to the head rest, which can be very useful when going for longer journeys. Before getting our LG dvd player I did a lot of research and after reading quite a few positive reviews we decided for this one. There are many very cheap players, but most people complain after getting them, that it is worth investing a bit more!
